Every image in this book tells a story. And each story is told, just as each image was created, from the unique perspective and in the distinct voice of an individual whose life has been touched by cancer.
While not everyone who has cancer is cured, everyone who is diagnosed with cancer can experience healing. That journey often begins by observing and creating beauty, both internally and externally. It is this profound experience of creating, writing and sharing our insights, that allows healing to begin.
Our book chronicles 15 years of Arts in Medicine
We first conceived of this book five years ago, as a way to document 10 years of healing through Arts in Medicine. However, our greatest challenge has been to stop adding material, while being continually awed by the creative works that come to us each week through Arts in Medicine classes. We hope you enjoy the excerpts we have selected.
